‘Almanac Gardener’ enters new season
“Almanac Gardener,” a weekly horticulture program of UNC-TV and North Carolina Cooperative Extension, begins its 32nd season this Saturday (April 4).
Sharing tips and information for home gardeners, the half-hour show features long-time host Mike Gary and Extension horticulture agents and specialists affiliated with NC State University.
Gray will take viewers to gardens, farms and nurseries across North Carolina as he covers topics ranging from attracting butterflies and other pollinators to home food production and care of flowers and shrubs.
Among the Extension agents who will appear this year are Karen Neill, Guilford County; Amy-Lynn Albertson, Davidson County; Jeana Myers, Wake County; Charlotte Glen and Debbie Roos, Chatham County; Stephen Greer, Moore County; Michelle Wallace, Durham County; Scott Welborn, Forsyth County; and Cyndi Lauderdale, Wilson County.
Also appearing will be area specialized agent Bill Lord of Franklin County and Extension specialists Lucy Bradley and Liz Driscoll, both with NC State.
Episodes air at noon Saturdays and repeat at 10:30 a.m. Sundays for 20 weeks, ending Aug. 29. Episodes from earlier seasons are available for viewing online at http://video.unctv.org/program/almanac-gardener/.
