Ag agents receive state, national awards

Seven agricultural agents with North Carolina Cooperative Extension have received awards from the North Carolina Association of County Agricultural Agents. All of the state winners will be recognized as national winners at the National Association of County Agricultural Agents Annual Meeting and Professional Improvement Conference during September in Pittsburgh.

Winners, their Cooperative Extension county centers and awards are:

* Al Wood, agricultural agent, Pasquotank County Center, Distinguished Service Award
* Dan Campeau, area specialized poultry agent based in Chatham County, Distinguished Service Award
* Danelle Cutting, agricultural agent, Montogomery County Center, Young Agent Scholarship Award
* Della King, agricultural agent, Sampson County Center, Achievement Award
* James Hartsfield, area extension farm management Agent in Sampson and Duplin counties, Distinguished Service Award
* Matt Stevens, agricultural agent, Halifax County, Achievement Award
* Lance Grimes, agricultural agent, Washington County Young Agent Scholarship Award
