Outstanding Global Engagement Award


José Ascencio-Ibáñez, teaching associate professor, was awarded a 2018 Outstanding Global Engagement Award for his work on cassava mosaic disease. This award encourages and recognizes outstanding accomplishment in globally engaged teaching, research, extension and/or engagement and economic development.

Planting A Bountiful Partnership

Associate Professor Colleen Doherty is part of an international team examining how high temperatures affect the growth of rice plants from around the world. These efforts may lead to rice varieties that are more heat tolerant and productive and thus increase global food security.

Rubén Rellán-Álvarez brings plenty of diverse thought, creativity and teaching to the College of Agriculture and Life Sciencesu2019 Department of Molecular and Structural Biochemistry. His research team focuses on understanding the genetic, evolutionary and physiological mechanisms involved in plants adaptation to abiotic stresses.
