Protect Yourself: Enroll Now in Google 2-Step and Duo

Reminder: Enroll now in both Google 2-Step and Duo to protect yourself and the Pack. Don’t wait!*

All faculty and staff (including student and no-pay employees) will be required to enroll in 2FA by October 31, 2017, and were notified by email on March 2, 2017. But why wait? Enroll now to keep your account secure!

Don’t be confused by its many names — multifactor authentication, two-factor, or 2-step verification — just think of it as another layer of protection for your most vital accounts. When you activate two-factor authentication, you will be required to log in with both your password and an additional security measure, such as:

  • a code delivered via text, voice call or mobile app
  • a USB security key
  • a printed backup code
  • a push (or pop-up) notification on your smartphone.

Watch the video (above and below) and learn more about two-factor authentication.  To enroll, visit go.ncsu.edu/caat-2fa or go.ncsu.edu/2fa.

*Extension IT (EIT) prefers county-based Extension personnel wait for EIT to assist in a face-to-face setting. EIT will attend organizational meetings and visit county extension centers to ensure everyone completes their 2FA enrollments before the deadline. EIT will contact you as upcoming 2FA enrollment opportunities arise. Visit the CALS Academic & Administrative Technology website for more information.
