My Journey from Rural America to Washington, DC, with stops in Vienna, Kabul, and Dubai!

Jaime Adams joined the USDA Office of the Chief Scientist in 2011 as the Senior Advisor for International Affairs leading international agricultural science and technology issues for the USDA Chief Scientist and Under Secretary for Research, Education, and Economics.

Ms. Adams joined USDA in 2004 and has worked on high-level international agricultural issues for over 20 years spanning policy and technical dimensions, including regulatory, trade, science, technology and research areas. Her experience includes representing and negotiating on behalf of the United States government at bilateral and multilateral meetings, including G7 and G20, and she was posted at the U.S. Embassy in Afghanistan. Ms. Adams has supported a variety of international initiatives involving high-level foreign and U.S. leadership including President of the United States, members of Congress, U.S. Ambassadors, and U.S. Cabinet officials.

Ms. Adams is a trained Economist; she received her Bachelor of Science in International, Resource, and Consumer Economics and Master of Science in Agricultural Economics from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
