Valued colleagues,
As we roll into the fullness of the fall semester, we want to remind each of you that taking care of yourselves should remain a top priority during this busy season. In a week, we will have the first university wellness day of the semester. While this day is a scheduled work day, we encourage you to center wellness in accessible ways, including limiting or eliminating meetings, attending a professional development event that will fill your bucket, providing and embracing flexible scheduling where you are able, and if it’s your jam, attend one of the wellness events sponsored by university HR.
If you are an instructor, this is a gentle reminder that no assignments, exams, quizzes, etc., should be scheduled for the wellness day or the day after. This includes both on-campus and distance-delivered courses. If you are working with students in a lab, please consider wellness day when scheduling deadlines for lab work, meetings, and experiments/work at the bench. Remind your students how important it is to take care of themselves during this busy time, and encourage them to take advantage of the many resources available on campus using Wolfpack Wellness.
Remember that many wellness-related resources for faculty and staff can be found at CALS Wellness and Wolfpack Wellness.
Above all, take care of yourselves and each other. You are valued. You matter.
