NC State named “green giant” for leading the way in sustainable energy
Winds of Change, the journal of the American Indian Society for Engineering and Science, named NC State — and the college’s Dr. Heike Sederoff in particular — as a leader in academic programs focused on sustainable energy.
Sederoff, associate professor of plant and microbial biology, directs a project that focuses on converting oil-rich camelina into biofuels.
“We are a large and interdisciplinary team of biologists, engineers and economists who work together on all aspects of camelina improvement, from agricultural management to genetic engineering to fuel conversion,” Sederoff said in the article.
