Blackberry and raspberry workshop set for Aug. 31

N.C. State University will hold a blackberry and raspberry workshop at the Upper Mountain Research Station on Aug. 31. The event starts with registration at 9 a.m. and concludes with a noon lunch.

The event features field tours focused on producing caneberries — blackberries and raspberries — in and out of tunnels, managing insects and handling berries after they are harvested. There will also be a taste test and equipment demonstration.

The event is sponsored by the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, the North Carolina Agricultural Research Service and the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service at N.C. State University; the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services; and the N.C. Tobacco Trust Fund Commission.
