Update on College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Dean Search

Memorial Belltower and spring flowers.

Dear College of Agriculture and Life Sciences colleagues –

I’m writing to provide you with an update on the search for the dean of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Provost Arden and I want to be transparent and keep you informed throughout this search process.

I last updated you about the search in early April. Since then, the nomination committee had a check-in meeting on April 18 and then a mid-search review meeting on Friday, May 6. There is still time for you to share the job prospectus and send recommendations on ideal candidates for recruitment.

The committee will meet in late May to identify a small handful of candidates for first-round interviews, which will take place in early to mid-June. The committee will then make a recommendation to the provost of two to four candidates for finalist interviews, tentatively to be conducted in mid-July. Open forums for each candidate will be held during this time.

The provost and I value your input on this search. We will post this and other updates on the search website.

Sincerely,

Louis Martin-Vega
Dean, College of Engineering
