Serving Students in CALS Career Services

Written by Robin Clements

Last year, CALS Career Services reached 1,914 students in the classroom, 452 students via personal appointment, hosted 25 on-site employer interview sessions and coordinated 100 employers in attending the STEAM² Career Expo.

Managed by Sara Lane, CALS Career Services offers a variety of programs to prepare students for exciting and fruitful careers in agriculture and life sciences.

Through CALS Career Services programs, our students are learning to effectively present themselves and demonstrate the soft skills they’ve obtained through their academic, employment and extracurricular activities, leading them to job search success and career potential.

Sara welcomes the opportunity to attend academic classes for 15 to 50 minutes and spark conversations about careers and career services. This would include information and tips regarding resume writing and cover letter preparation, professionalism, job search tips, LinkedIn guidance, personal finance, job offer negotiation and/or benefits training.

Students seeking individual appointments with CALS Career Services may set up an appointment in e-PACK for Spring 2018.

Reach out to Sara (sjlane@ncsu.edu) if you’d like her to speak with your classes!
