N.C. PSI Calls for Research Plants for Test Plots

The N.C. Plant Sciences Initiative is seeking new plants from CALS research projects to feature in front of the Plant Sciences Building on Centennial Campus for the coming year (through summer 2024).

The N.C. PSI has established five test plots in front of the building to promote innovation, foster the development of new ideas and showcase research outcomes. The Plant Sciences Building is visited by hundreds of people every year, from units on campus, other universities, industry representatives, K-12 schools, government officials and more.

Research plants will be displayed with a placard describing your research so visitors and regular users of the Plant Sciences Building can learn about your innovations. If you are interested in participating, please review the following:

  • Contact Jie Pacelli: Send an email to jliu13@ncsu.edu expressing your interest in showcasing your research plants. Provide information about your plants, including species, cultivar, growth requirements and any special care instructions. You can also inquire about space availability and discuss specific considerations.
  • Allow sufficient time: It is advisable to contact N.C. PSI at least four weeks before you would be seeking to place your plants in the plots to ensure smooth coordination. This will allow enough time for preparations, including space allocation and coordination with other participants.

Should your plants be selected for a test plot, N.C. PSI staff will meet with you to discuss the next steps in terms of planting, care and maintenance plans and other details.
