Long-Sleeved Shirt Drive

Farm worker in the fields

Claudia Mello (cmello@ncsu.edu) is collecting long-sleeved shirts for farmworkers. Farmworkers endure the highest rate of toxic chemical injuries and skin disorders of any workers in the country.

Long-sleeved cotton, light color shirts are a crucial part of farm workers protection gear. However, they often can’t afford to buy them.

Check in your closet for long-sleeved men’s and women’s clean, cotton, light color shirts you don’t use any more or go to the store to buy new ones to donate.

Shirts will be distributed among farm workers in Eastern NC through the Extension Farmworker Health and Safety Education Program.

Drop shirts off in Patterson Hall before June 1.
