Lighten Your Pack: Additional Resources and Reminders

Students, faculty and staff enjoy a spring day by participating in a Pause for Tiny Hooves event at the Corner on Centennial campus. Therapy miniature horses from Stampede of Love, as well as therapy dogs, provide a wellness break from the end of semester rush. Photo by Becky Kirkland.
You may have started seeing the Lighten Your Pack campaign across campus. As the academic year starts, I wanted to share some additional resources for you and your teams.

This summer, University Communications and the Division of Academic and Student Affairs collaborated to create Lighten Your Pack, a comprehensive communications approach to mental health and well-being at NC State. If you’re looking for ways to highlight wellness opportunities, I encourage you to review and use the resources below. Please let us know if you have any questions.

  • A campaign toolkit for communicators is available online, outlining key messages, campus resources and content strategy recommendations.
    • Instructions for ordering campaign swag are included in the toolkit. You may have spotted “Lighten Your Pack” buttons, stickers and signage during Welcome Week!
  • Six campaign videos have launched, each focusing on how folks can lighten their Pack through wellness. These videos can be used on digital billboards, university websites and social media channels.
  • Wellness.ncsu.edu now includes a resource filter allowing visitors to quickly find what they need. The updated site serves as the university’s hub for all things wellness.

The campaign and all the improved resources are a testament to strong partnerships across the university. Thank you to everyone who played a part in quickly making this approach a reality for our community. Let us know if there is anything we can do to support your work.

Thank you!
