University Human Resources (UHR) is excited to announce plans for Our Extraordinary Pack Employee Appreciation Week, May 7-13, and Mental Health Awareness Month in May.

NC State’s Employee Appreciation Week (May 7-13) will coincide with State Employee Recognition Week, May 7-13, and State Employee Appreciation Day, May 10.

Themed Days and Activities During Employee Appreciation Week

  • Mindful Monday: Start the week by prioritizing your mental health and well-being. Stress-reduction webinars, yoga sessions, a relaxation station and resources for other mindfulness strategies will be available throughout the day.
  • Thankful Tuesday: Share your appreciation and gratitude with members of the Pack who positively affect your work day. Send Paws and Say Thanks cards to colleagues, and look at the Recognition Toolbox on the UHR website to learn about other appreciation activities, strategies and practices.
  • Wolfpack Wednesday: Celebrate NC State by connecting with people, places and programs to foster spirit and pride. The Memorial Belltower, the Gregg Museum, the Crafts Center and the Wellness and Recreation Center are a few places employees can explore and tour.
  • Team-Building Thursday: Participate in a scheduled team-building activity with your Wolfpack or plan your activity. Watch a live cooking demonstration that will take place at Carmichael Gymnasium, come to Miller Fields for WellRec Recess and play games, or participate in a virtual Kahoot! trivia game.
  • Funday Friday: Finish the week by planning fun ways to appreciate your Pack. Create fun awards for individuals and teams that use Pack-related superlatives. Celebrate with your Pack by getting a meal together. Here are some food options:
    • Dine at an off-campus restaurant or an on-campus dining hall
    • Enjoy a potluck or picnic with your Pack
    • Host a healthy snack break
    • Get Howling Cow ice cream at the NC State Dairy Research and Training Farm
    • Host a virtual lunch hour
    • Schedule an in-person or virtual coffee chat
