Racial Equity in Food Systems

The Committee on Racial Equity in the Food System (CORE), an initiative of the Center for Environmental Farming Systems (CEFS), will host a series of Racial Equity in Food Systems Trainings in 2023.

The training sessions are open to all participants, although food systems practitioners in North Carolina are prioritized. View the full 2023 calendar of training sessions.

Multi-Day Virtual Training

Join us for our free multi-day virtual racial equity training that will offer a shared language, a shared framework, and a shared history for understanding how racism and systemic barriers inhibit equity in the food system. Our focus will be on food security and food access-related issues. Each workshop is a two-day commitment, and all workshops in 2023 are virtual.

  • Level 1 Training: Feb. 7 and 8, 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. each day
  • Level 2 Training: March 7 and 8, 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. each day
