The Agricultural Institute (AGI) proudly announces Savannah Geidel as its new writing lecturer. Yearly, she will teach up to eight sections of WRT 111: Expository Writing and WRT 114: Professional Writing, Research and Reporting, along with other writing and communication-related courses. Additionally, she will serve on AGI committees and assist with the peer evaluation process and teaching portfolio for AGI instructors.

Geidel earned an associate’s degree from the State University of New York (SUNY) Westchester, a bachelor’s degree in English and language arts teacher education from SUNY New Paltz and a master’s degree in English language and literature from the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW). She has teaching experience at New Hanover County Schools, UNCW, Cape Fear Community College and Johnston Community College.

AGI has built its reputation on high-quality instruction, care for students and connections with its alumni and the agricultural industry. Geidel will join the AGI teaching team with our writing coordinator, Ashley Burns.

“Savannah brings great care for students, exhibits enthusiasm for pedagogy and comes highly recommended from previous educational institutions,” says Lee Ivy, AGI director and assistant director of Academic Programs. “I look forward to seeing her develop her educational prowess and making an impact on our students.”
