Turfgrass short course is Feb. 14-18

The annual North Carolina State University Turfgrass Short Course is scheduled for Feb. 14-18 at the university’s JC Raulston Arboretum in Raleigh.
The event provides five days of comprehensive turfgrass education and is appropriate for anyone interested in turf, including homeowners, career-changers or turfgrass professionals. The workshop features presentations covering all aspects of turfgrass management by faculty members in the N.C. State’s turfgrass program.
Topics to be covered include turfgrass selection, weed identification; soils and irrigation; nutrient management; mowing, aerification and other cultural practices; disease management, pesticide rules and regulations and insect management. The short course also includes a field trip to N.C. State’s Lake Wheeler Road Turfgrass Field Laboratory. Whether you’re just starting out in the lawn care profession or you’re a homeowner who wants to learn how to improve your lawn, the course is the best practical how-to education you can get in a one-week study program.
The cost of the five-day course is $495. The JC Raulston Arboretum, where the course will be held, is at 4415 Beryl Road, Raleigh.
