The CALS Oaks Leadership Scholars had the opportunity to spend two days in Washington, D.C., right before graduation, putting their knowledge to use in our nation’s capital. The students had very busy days meeting with think tank representatives, legislators and members of Cabinet staff learning about how priorities are set, agendas influenced, and policies developed and implemented. The highlight of the two days was meeting humanitarian and civil rights icon, Congressman John Lewis. The students came back to North Carolina energized and ready to continue to Think and Do as they engage in their communities here at NC State and beyond!
