NC State Extension’s disaster website, NCDisaster.com, is a powerful resource when it comes to helping people prepare for, cope with and recover from disasters.
As Hurricane Irma approached, specialists provided advice on a range of disaster-related topics, from resources for those with storm-damaged forest land to ways to protect beehives during hurricanes.
Two NC State Extension experts also took their messages to YouTube:
- Emergency Coordinator Mike Yoder commented on the best way you can help victims and communities recover:
- Family and Youth Development Specialist Kim Allen shared wisdom on how to talk to children of different ages about the threat of disaster: https://youtu.be/QU9lYWQKvX0 (Allen also discussed the topic in a Saturday morning interview with WRAL-TV.)
