The College of Agriculture and Life Science (CALS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Sean Munday as assistant dean for business operations, effective Dec. 16, 2022.
Munday is noted for his work improving business operations in support of faculty and staff at CALS, including developing new methods for allocating resources within the college and instituting a pilot program to share administrative positions with academic departments.
“We are excited to have Sean serve in the assistant dean position,” Interim Dean John Dole said. “He brings a wealth of experience to the position and has presented a strong vision for the business operations of CALS. The search committee specifically commented on his experience, professionalism and ability to lead.”
Munday earned a B.S. in business administration from the University of New Mexico and a Master of Business Administration from North Carolina State University. After gaining significant business operations experience with several other academic institutions, including Stanford University and Duke University, he joined the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences in 2015 and most recently served as director of budgets and planning and interim assistant dean for business operations.
“I’m really excited to have the opportunity to lead a great CBO organization in such dynamic times,” Munday said. “The amazing work our college does is so impactful worldwide, and ensuring the availability of the resources needed to fulfill our mission is so important. I look forward to working with all of my colleagues at CALS to make that happen.”
