The Center for Environmental Farming Systems (CEFS) is seeking to fill the position of Director for Operations and Strategy.

Under the direction of the Center’s Director, Dr. Nancy Creamer, CEFS is looking for a proactive and energetic Director for Operations and Strategy to lead, manage and strategically enhance special project initiatives, support sponsored program research areas, and facilitate the sustainability and success of business operations, financial management, and human resource recruitment.

CEFS is a joint partnership between three state entities: North Carolina State University, North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, and the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. The Center for Environmental Farming Systems develops and promotes just and equitable food and farming systems that conserve natural resources, strengthen communities, improve health outcomes, and provide economic opportunities in North Carolina and beyond.

This position will be based at NC State.

Essential Job Duties:

As a key member of the CEFS leadership team, the Director for Operations and Strategy will be required to make independent decisions on implementing new strategic or operational directions and changes in administrative operations. The position will provide oversight and implementation of HR functions, fiscal planning and monitoring, grant proposal and budget development in support of PI’s, and may also serve as a Co-PI on proposals, leading appropriate segments based on expertise. Finally, this position will be responsible for providing supervision and oversight of members of the CEFS administration team, including the CEFS Business Manager, the Communications team, etc. This position will be a core member of the CEFS team and must be able to work and collaborate with a diverse group and work that spans the entire food system.
