The CALS Advisory Board for Strategic Excellence & Well-being (SEWB) is dedicated to creating a vibrant and effective community for 2025. Below are news and notes from the SEWB to support and elevate the CALS community in the New Year.

• All SEWB members are now listed on the CALS Contacts master list. Please contact your rep for questions or information related to SEWB activities.
• One of the fall 2024 SEWB initiatives was to strengthen our recognition of faculty and staff in our college who seek out voluntary learning opportunities related to well-being and strategic excellence. Starting this spring, there will be a place in Faculty Activity Reports for faculty to share that information. Staff will be encouraged to report that activity in their yearly appraisals. We look forward to recognizing the work of our faculty and staff in the spring!
• The SEWB initiative of creating a Links to Success page for CALS faculty and staff went live at the start of 2025!
• The SEWB spearheaded the creation of two new awards: The Spirit of the Land-Grant Mission Awards and CALS Values Awards. The nomination period for is open through Feb. 5.
• The deadline for the SEWB Mini-Grants has been extended to Jan. 15 at 5 p.m. Find more information about the grants and the RFP process here.
• The SEWB resource for this month is Pack Essentials. Pack Essentials is a program available for all students who are facing food or housing insecurity and other financial issues. For more information, please visit the Pack Essentials website.
