Amanda Knight, Sampson County NC Cooperative Extension’s 4-H agent, is Sampson County’s most recent featured employee.
A longtime Wayne County resident, Knight was born in Wayne County and graduated from Rosewood High School. She went on to attend Wayne Community College for her associate in livestock management and then NC A&T University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in agriculture education. Since receiving her teaching license, Knight is looking forward to exploring graduate schools.
Knight’s job duties are to grow and manage Sampson County 4-H programs. Summer is a busy time for 4-H as many programs are scheduled, and the slots fill quickly.
Since joining the team in August 2022, Knight has used her passion for growing educational programs for children to serve youth ages 5-18.
When asked if she’d like to share anything, Knight stated that she is a boring person and, therefore, she works too much. As you can tell, she also has a pretty good sense of humor!
Sampson County NC Cooperative Extension is happy to have Knight as their 4-H agent.
If you would like more information about 4-H, what 4-H has to offer, and how to enroll your children or grandchildren, please call her at 910-592-7161.
