College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Dean Richard Linton has announced that Dr. Harry Daniels has agreed to serve as the college’s senior associate dean, pending receipt of appropriate requisite approvals.
To ensure necessary business continuity, effective February 1, Daniels will begin serving in an acting capacity. “We look forward to sharing a more formal announcement with the broader CALS and NC State community once final approvals are received,” Linton said.
The position plays a key role for the college, serving as a conduit between all administrative units and upper administration. Daniels said he is excited about “the opportunity to meet the faculty and staff in all the departments and centers, both on-campus and at the off-campus units, to become familiar with their challenges and how I can assist.β
βIn the longer term, I plan to build on the momentum the college has gained from its reorganization and continue to improve our national standing,” he added. “Specifically, I think we can make significant progress in leadership development and diversity among the faculty and staff in all three of the CALS mission areas: research, academics, and extension.β
