On any given day, members of the university interact with individuals from the following five generations: Traditionalists, Baby Boomers, Gen X, Millennials and Gen Z.
Each generation carries a different set of values, preferences for how, when and where to accomplish activities, and views about what is important in life in general. Sometimes these preferences can lead to misunderstandings; however, if we learn to leverage the talents and strengths of all generations the workplace can be more productive.
Stephanie Davis, University HR, learning and development manager will lead the conversation and after introducing the generations discuss preferences related to communications and social media trends by generation.
Davis joined NC State 15 years ago and currently serves as the Assistant Director for Learning and Organizational Development within the Human Resources division. Throughout her career she has had the opportunity to assist the Pack with leadership development, career coaching, professional development training, organizational consulting, and team building. Stephanie loves discussions involving the five generations and has a passion for our Wolfpack Community!
