The NC State Meat Lab won the 2017 Battle of the Brats competition at the annual meeting of the American Society of Animal Science (ASAS). Participants sampled and cast their votes for best brat during the ASAS Awards Celebration on July 9. NC State’s entry, “Smoked BBQ Beef Brat” beat out four others to take top honors — and bragging rights for the year.
