The Office of the Dean in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences seeks a tenured faculty member to serve in the role of director of special projects and planning. This role will support projects and strategic initiatives overseen by Dean Garey Fox and college leadership that impact strategic planning goals in education, research and extension.
The position will handle a wide range of matters of institutional importance and provide leadership and direction for college-wide project management initiatives especially in regard to the CALS strategic plan. The director will collaborate and coordinate with college leadership regarding strategic planning and performance measurement. It is anticipated that the selected faculty member will receive a supplement with a partial buyout of faculty time anticipated at 25%.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist the Dean and college leaders in identifying areas for programmatic improvement by researching and analyzing pertinent data
- Work collaboratively with the Dean and college leaders, directors, faculty and staff to implement college-wide initiatives especially related to the CALS strategic plan
- Identity trends, through analysis and collaboration, within diverse and related data sets to assist the Dean and college leadership in tracking progress on initiatives for programmatic improvement
- Provide summary analyses in evaluating new programs relative to strategic planning goals
- Deliver high level of competency and resourcefulness in working on unusually complex projects, problems and provide highly innovative solutions that achieve quality and improvements to work processes/procedures
