As Associate Department Head I provide support for the Department Head as needed. Specific responsibilities include managing the Reappointment, Promotion and Tenure process as well as the Post Tenure Review process. I also coordinate the hiring process for new faculty.
As the Director of Undergraduate Programs, I am responsible for the administration for the undergraduate academic program, including the coordination of advising, academic scheduling, student recruitment and retention, curriculum maintenance and development. I am the Coordinator for Online and Distance Learning, where I am in charge of program development, budgeting, enrollment forecasting, marketing and student recruiting. I teach the two largest undergraduate courses in the department as well as advise and mentor a large number of undergraduate students.
My undergraduate teaching program consistently delivers a high quality learning experience to a large number of students from a diverse audience. A typical semester for my SSC 200 Soil Science lecture and SSC 201 Soil Science Laboratory will reach 50+Â unique concentrations spanning 40 different bachelor degrees. While my classes are high enrollment, individualized attention to the student remains a primary focus.
