2025 Willie Woltz Seminar
Dr. Alexandra Kravchenko
Dr. Kravchenko is renewed for her work in micro- to macro-scale biogeochemical processes involved in soil carbon and nitrogen cycling. As a Professor at Michigan State University in the Department of Plant, Soil and Microbial Sciences, she leads the Kravchenko Lab.
Her research focuses on understanding the role of the interactions between land use and management, soil properties ( including soil pores in micro-scale processes) and topography to explore soil carbon sequestration and greenhouse gas emissions across agricultural landscapes. In 2022, Sasha Kravchenko served as a Chair of Soil Physics and Hydrology Division of Soil Science Society of America.
