Advancing Urban Soil Remediation in Louisiana and Beyond
Dr. Anna Paltseva’s research in Louisiana extends beyond the laboratory, focusing on urban soil contamination and remediation through innovative methods. Utilizing X-ray fluorescence (XRF) technology, her team analyzes soil samples to identify and quantify metal pollutants as well as develops soil
amendments like vermicompost and recycled crawfish shells, deepening the understanding of urban soil contamination. She will also introduce her first book, “Urban Soil Guide: Field and Laboratory Manual, an essential tool for anyone passionate about urban soil management and environmental stewardship.
