
Andrew Branan was featured by the Virginia Lawyer in an article titled “Back to the Land: Nonprofit Wants to Connect Black Landowners to Lawyers.” In the article, Branan explains the legal intricacies of restoring property to African Americans who have lost their family-owned land. He has worked with several families who wish to restore the legacy of the land their ancestors once owned.
Branan has worked on North Carolina projects with the Black Family Land Trust and continues to do so through NC State Cooperative Extension. He has also begun working with a consortium of land grant universities across the south on heir property land preservation issues and best practices.
