Historian Clark to host session at 4-H exhibit

During 4-H Congress, 4-H'ers visiting the "Leading Together" exhibit at D.H. Hill Library will have the opportunity to talk with Dr. Jim Clark, retired N.C. State faculty member and author of the centennial book on N.C. 4-H, Clover all Over: North Carolina's First 4-H Century.

Library exhibit tells the story of 4-H

As North Carolina 4-H winds down its centennial celebration, an exhibit at N.C. State’s D.H. Hill Library teaches visitors about the links between N.C. State and 4-H, while showing how today’s 4-H continues the traditions of service through head, heart, hands and health.

Innovative civics program earns state award

A North Carolina 4-H program in Cabarrus County was one of nine programs recently honored by the N.C. Association of County Commissioners. Earlier, the Cabarrus 4-H Citizenship Focus program earned 4-H agent Heather Jones the N.C. Center for Voter Education’s Outstanding Citizen Award for 2011.

Military youth participate in Wolfpack baseball game

As N.C. State University’s baseball team took to the field against Wake Forest on Sunday, April 3, military youth and their families representing all branches of North Carolina’s military were on hand to participate in the second annual Military Appreciation Day Baseball Game.

Matt Silliman remembered with 4-H Camp Millstone meditation garden

On Saturday, March 19, 4-H Camp Millstone will host a tree planting and dedicate a meditation garden in memory of Matthew Silliman, who was a 4-H’er and counselor at the camp. Silliman’s life was taken by youth violence in November 2008.

New graduate program in Family Life and Youth Development serves high-demand market

As of fall 2010, courses have begun in a new graduate program in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at N.C. State University. The new program offers two distance-based graduate study paths leading to master’s degrees in Family Life and Youth Development.
