Agricultural Policy and the Farm Bill
ARE has had a long track record analyzing and investigating the economic implications of farm policy with a strong emphasis on the US farm bill. In particular, crop insurance programs have been extensively analyzed by faculty members, Barry Goodwin, Rod Rejesus, and Nick Piggott.
Much of this work has been done through The American Enterprise Institute.
Goodwin has contributed to the AEI series on the Farm Bill with many articles which analyze agricultural policy. Barry also participates in the AEI “ReThink Tank” which recently produced a video titled “Farm Subsidies are a Solution in Search of a Problem.”
