Bio

Nicholas Brown is an assistant extension professor in the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics. In this position, Nicholas will provide extension services concerning taxes and other legal matters to farmers, agribusiness owners, and tax professionals. Nicholas will also teach undergraduate courses such as agribusiness tax. To supplement his work in extension and teaching, Nicholas will conduct research related to tax and other agricultural law matters. Nicholas has prior and continuing research projects involving pesticide drift and administrative agency law.

Previously, Nicholas worked as an attorney in his hometown of Hartwell, Georgia where he handled trust and estate matters, corporate work, and other legal issues. Nicholas also worked for a real estate investing and management firm where he performed a myriad of work from cold calling property owners and negotiating with neighbors to contract drafting and navigating the Americans with Disabilities Act. Nicholas holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia School of Law as well as a Master of Science in Agricultural and Applied Economics from the University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. Nicholas is barred in several states including North Carolina and Georgia.
