Bio

Dr. Michael Best was born and raised on a small truck cropping farm in Berea, KY.  He has a BS in agribusiness from Berea College, an MS in agricultural economics from the University of Tennessee and a PhD in agricultural economics from the University of Kentucky.  While most of 27 years of professional experience comes in the teaching area, he has also worked in extension as a state extension specialist at the University of Georgia.  Over the years, he has taught numerous courses in the areas of agriculture and food, and has written over 100 feasibility studies and business plans for farmers and agribusinesses in the southeast.  His hobbies are growing heirloom tomatoes and green beans and wood working.
