Agricultural Institute Delta Tau Alpha (DTA) members recently attended a four-course etiquette dinner led by international expert Lisa Richey of the American Academy of Etiquette. The goal of the experience was to give students confidence in dinner etiquette so they could devote their focus to the interview.

At the reception, AGI students mingled with Poole College of Management students and learned tips on everything from receiving a business card to shaking hands and how to wear a name tag effectively.

Richey gave detailed instructions for American and European styles of etiquette for each course of the meal. DTA members learned how to pass the salt, butter their bread, excuse themselves and never place a phone or purse on the table.

“This opportunity was one of four DTA professional development events this semester,” Adviser Dr. Jonathan Phillips said.  “DTA extends its thanks to the Poole College of Management for the invitation.”
