On Jan. 9, 2023, the ABM Office of Student Mentoring (OSM) hosted a “Welcome Back to Spring Semester Reception” to celebrate the first day of classes. All Ag Business students were invited to stop by the ARE Student Lounge in Nelson Hall to enjoy cookies, hot chocolate and community. Several faculty and emeriti faculty were also in attendance and mingled with students.
Director of Undergraduate Programs John Russ addressed the group and discussed his plans for the upcoming semester, including student trips and professional development opportunities. The event was also the first time that a new point system was implemented, offering students the opportunity to earn points for attending OSM professional development events. Students with more points can qualify for numerous perks such as priority registration for some events and special recognition at graduation.
