Professor and Extension Specialist Nick Piggott was honored as a Distinguished Fellow of the Australasian Agricultural and Resource Economics Society (AARES) at their Annual Conference on Feb. 12, 2025. This recognition is awarded to long-serving AARES members who have made sustained and distinguished contributions to either research, teaching, policy development or leadership in agricultural and resource economics.
Piggott has been a dedicated member of AARES for over two decades. He played a pivotal role in establishing the North American Branch of AARES and fostering international collaboration through the AARES-AAEA Young Professionals Exchange Travel Award. His research on consumer demand, price transmission, agricultural markets and risk management has had a lasting impact on both academia and industry practices.
