Michael Walden was Keynote Speaker at the “Business North Carolina” Magazine Annual Awards Meeting

ARE Economist, Michael Walden, spoke at the annual N.C. Mid-Market Fast 40 luncheon in Pinehurst on October 2nd. He discussed the subject of his new book, North Carolina Beyond the Connected Age:  The Tar Heel State in 2050 (UNC Press), which focuses on where the state is going in terms of population, jobs, and prosperity. Walden predicts that North Carolina’s population will largely increase over the next 30 years which was demonstrated by the map he shared during his talk that showed sections of North Carolina with the potential to flourish as pockets of manufacturing, tourism and agri-business.
