Meet Our New ARE Faculty Members
We are excited to announce the addition of two new faculty members this semester, Extension Assistant Professor Nicholas Brown and Assistant Professor Zhenxuan Wang.

Nicholas Brown, J.D. – Extension Assistant Professor, Farm Taxation and Agribusiness Management
In this position, Brown will provide extension services concerning taxes and other legal matters to farmers, agribusiness owners and tax professionals and teach undergraduate courses such as agribusiness tax. In addition to extension work and teaching, Brown will conduct research related to tax and other agricultural law matters. His prior and continuing research projects involve pesticide drift and administrative agency law.
Brown holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia School of Law and a Master of Science in Agricultural and Applied Economics from the University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. He is barred in several states, including North Carolina and Georgia.
Dr. Zhenxuan Wang – Assistant Professor, Environmental and Resource Economics
Wang received his Ph.D. in Environmental Policy and Master’s in Economics from Duke University. His research focuses on environmental, energy and development economics.
The central theme of Wang’s work is to understand policy, technological and adaptation solutions to climate change. The topics cover energy transition, climate change mitigation and adaptation and technology adoption in the energy sector. A goal for his research is to tackle pressing policy issues tied to environmental and energy challenges in the U.S. and emerging economies by integrating microeconomic theory, innovative data and advanced econometric tools.
