NC State University welcomed new and returning students to campus last week with a slew of events designed to connect students, build community and celebrate the start of the fall semester.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences joined in the excitement of the season at Packapalooza, the university’s campuswide celebration to mark the new school year. CALS also highlighted student resources, clubs and organizations at CALS Connection. And the college geared up for students who will join campus in the spring through the Spring Connect<\/a> and STEAM (Student Transition Enrollment Advising and Mentoring)<\/a> programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hosted by CALS Academic Programs, CALS Connection, held on Aug. 20, offered students the opportunity to learn all about CALS academic departments, clubs and organizations<\/a>, and student and wellness resources<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CALS student ambassadors along with Dean Garey Fox welcomed the newest members of the Wolfpack to campus during the university’s annual Packapalooza block party<\/a> on Aug. 24 . The festival included games, giveaways, food and information on how students can connect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The STEAM program helps make higher education more accessible to rural students interested in pursuing agriculturally-related majors in partnership with community colleges.
