Life Science Research Foundation Fellowship<\/strong><\/h3>\n \n\n \t \t

The Life Science Research Foundation (LSRF) believes that fundamental advances in life sciences depend upon the training and support of high quality young scientists at a critical point in their career \u2013 their postdoctoral training<\/strong>. With the goal to identify exceptional young scientists and secure funding for their projects, the LSRF Fellowship provides three (3) years of support to a named postdoctoral researcher at a non-profit university or research institution.

2026 Seed2Grow Pitch Competition<\/h3>\n \n\n \t \t

The Seed2Grow Showcase & Pitch Competition, a high-energy event spotlighting innovations to solve grand challenges in agriculture and the environment. Two pitch competition tracks will be featured, one for current NC State students and one for NC State researchers (faculty, postdocs, research scholars). Six participants will be selected to compete in each track by N.C. PSI leadership and the Seed2Grow Commercialization Council. With industry experts serving as judges and an open audience of investors, industry, and the NC State community, the event will showcase bold new solutions and highlight the strength of North Carolina\u2019s growing agtech ecosystem.

Wege Prize 2027: Student-Powered Solutions for the Circular Economy<\/h3>\n \n\n \t \t

Wege Prize provides the opportunity for transdisciplinary teams of university students to develop real-world solutions to complex, \u201cwicked\u201d problems through the framework of the circular economy. For the Wege Prize, teams of students across disciplines and institutions are challenges to use circular design to develop products and services that create unique value, solve real-world problems, and benefit people, businesses, and the environment.

2027 N.C. PSI BRIDGE Symposium<\/h2>

The N.C. PSI is hosting the 4th annual BRIDGE (Bridging Research Ideas for Greater Extension) Symposium. Graduate students from any department are encouraged to apply. Industry leaders, NC Extension representatives, growers, postdocs and faculty across the university will be present to hear from the teams and talk at round tables with the participants following the presentations.   At the 2027 BRIDGE Symposium, graduate students from different disciplines who are not currently collaborating on research (not in the same lab, degree program, or research project<\/em>) will come together to build new interdisciplinary partnerships. Each participant will briefly present their own research, and then, as a team, they will develop and present a proposal for a collaborative research project that combines their expertise. The most innovative and compelling team presentations will receive awards.  <\/strong>

Virtual Fall Writing Retreat <\/h3>\n \n\n \t \t

The two-day Virtual Writing Retreat Sprint offers graduate student and postdoctoral writers the dedicated time and structure to make progress on a major writing project in a supportive online setting. This event is free to attend but registration is required.

N.C. PSI Hackathon<\/h3>\n \n\n \t \t

The N.C. PSI Hackathon is an annual event that gives undergraduates, graduate students and postdoctoral scholars the chance to demonstrate their skills in a 3-day competition to solve ag tech related challenges for prizes and, of course, bragging rights. With the goal to accelerate agricultural research using data analytics, machine learning, and hardware fabrication, our annual Hackathons have multiple tracks and are inclusive to participants with various levels of experience.

KIETS Climate Leaders Program<\/h3>\n \n\n \t \t

The KIETS Climate Leaders Program provides opportunities for NC State students to work on initiatives for potential solutions to societal challenges being caused by climate change throughout the world. The program involves an internship experience (3 to 6 months), active participation in all
activities associated with the CLP Leadership Academy, and the annual Climate Leadership Symposium. Candidates for the 2027 cohort must be full-time undergraduate or graduate students at NC State who will not graduate prior to Spring 2028.<\/em>

Risk Analysis in the Research Triangle: Program Overviews and Young Investigator Research<\/strong><\/h3>\n \n\n \t \t

Join the Society for Risk Analysis (SRA) Research Triangle Regional Organization for an in-person networking event featuring introductions to risk analysis programs from across the Research Triangle, and a research showcase for graduate students and postdocs. Risk Analysis is a highly interdisciplinary field spanning engineering, public health, social science, policy, and beyond, and curious newcomers are just as welcome as specialists.\u00a0The event is free, with light refreshments provided, but registration is required.
