Model Thinking in Plant Biology Curriculum Summit

Plant Sciences Building 840 Oval Drive, Raleigh, North Carolina

Educators from NC State and beyond will meet to discuss ways to engage middle school students by using modeling thinking to learn about plants. Platform Director Terri Long will work with a core team to take the ideas generated during the Summit to develop novel and useful curricula for students.

BRIDGE Symposium

The N.C. Plant Sciences Initiative presents the Bridging Research Ideas for Greater Extension — or BRIDGE — Symposium. Interdisciplinary teams of graduate students and postdoctoral scholars from across NC State University's campus will present their ideas for research that would meet the needs of growers and those who work in Extension.

N.C. PSI Mashup

Data science is the focus of this first-in-a-series of North Carolina Plant Sciences Initiative Mashups. Speakers Mark Wolff, from leading analytics company SAS, and Haley Houser, from NC State University's Data Science Academy, will highlight their research.

PSI Hackathon is an annual event that gives undergraduates, graduate students and postdoctoral scholars the chance to demonstrate their skills in a 3-day competition to solve ag tech related challenges for prizes and, of course, bragging rights.
