Scholarships and Financial Aid<\/h3>\n \n\n \t \t

CALS awards more than $1 million in scholarships and fellowships each year. All students who apply for admission by October 15 and apply for financial aid via FAFSA by March 1 are automatically considered for university-level, need-based academic scholarships.<\/p>\n\t \t \n

Honors<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The University Honors Program<\/a> introduces high-achieving students to the visual and performing arts, encourages them to consider issues drawn from the sciences and politics, challenges them to excel academically, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Summer Programs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Integrative Molecular Plant Systems Undergraduate Research Experience<\/a> is an NSF-funded, 10-week summer program during which students actively engage in a research project under faculty mentorship. We also offer the BeeMORE program<\/a>, an eight-week summer research experience funded by the USDA-NIFA Research and Extension Experiential Learning for Undergraduates (REU) Fellowships Program. The BeeMORE program focuses on building awareness and fundamental skills in the areas of microbiology and bee biology. (Please note that these summer REUs are geared more for students outside of NC State, and they typically only accept one NC State student, if any. NC State students should reference the NSF Database of REUs<\/a>.<\/em>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

W. Scott Chilton Undergraduate Research Award<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The W. Scott Chilton Undergraduate Research Award<\/a> provides stipends to rising sophomores, juniors, or seniors with an interest in becoming involved in research with a faculty member in the Department of Plant and Microbial Biology. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nearly 200 NC State graduate students presented their research during the 19th annual Graduate Student Research Symposium.
