Workshops on farmers' market management planned

On Friday, March 11, the Marketing Division of the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services will offer a one-day workshop for farmers’ market managers and vendors involved in policy and regulatory decisions, at the Pasquotank County Cooperative Extension Center in Elizabeth City. The workshop will run from 9:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m., and topics ranging from food safety to grants and payment methods in addition to cash will be touched on. The NCDA&CS staff will be presenting the same workshop on Friday, March 18, at the Union County Extension Center in Monroe.

Both these workshops have a $20 registration fee. The registration deadline for the workshop in Elizabeth City is March 4, and the registration deadline for the Monroe workshop is March 11.
