Dr. Robert Evans, professor and head of the Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering, recently received the Royce J. Tipton Award at the U.S. Committee on Irrigation and Drainage (USCID) conference, “Using 21st Century Technology to Better Manage Irrigation Water Supplies,” in Scottsdale, Arizona.

The Tipton Award is a highly prestigious lifetime achievement award given by The American Society of Civil Engineers.

The award recognizes a person who “has made a definitive contribution to the advancement of irrigation and drainage engineering either in teaching, research, planning, design, construction, or management, these contributions being made through notable performance, long years of service, or specific actions which have served to advance the science of irrigation and drainage engineering.”
