Nomination Committee to Assist in Search for Next CALS Associate Dean of Research, Director of NCARS
The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) at NC State University has launched a nomination committee to aid in the search for the next associate dean of research and director of the North Carolina Agricultural Research Service (NCARS).
The committee is composed of university leaders and faculty as well as officials from state and industry partners. Members of the committee include:

- Charles Hall, NC Soybean Producers
- Sarah Kirby, Interim Associate Director of Extension Operations
- Matt Koci, Professor, Prestige Department of Poultry Science
- Chris Frey, Associate Dean for Research, College of Engineering
- Dominic Reisig, Professor, Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology
- K.P. Sandeep, Head of the Department for Food, Bioprocessing and Nutrition Sciences and Interim Director for the Plants for Human Health Institute
- Arion Kennedy, Assistant Professor, Department of Molecular and Structural Biochemistry
- Danesha Seth Carley, Director, Center for Integrated Pest Management
- Christy Sandy, NCARS Proposal Development Manager
- Teresa Lambert, Director, North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Research Stations Division
- Adrian Percy, Executive Director, N.C. Plant Sciences Initiative
- Stephanie Ward, Associate Professor, Department of Animal Science
- Rebecca Zuvich, Associate Dean, CALS Human Resources and Ex-Officio Member
The committee is tasked with identifying and attracting a broad pool of candidates from within and outside the university who have the skills and expertise to lead NCARS in service to CALS, the university and the state.
CALS Dean Garey Fox named NCARS Assistant Directors Loren Fisher and Amy Grunden as interim associate deans for research and interim directors of NCARS. Steve Lommel, previous associate dean of NCARS, retired from the role at the end of October.
