N.C. State University’s annual Turfgrass Field Day will be held in Raleigh at the Lake Wheeler Turfgrass Research Lab, Aug. 13, 8:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.

One of the largest events of its kind in the country, the field day offers the industry and general public a chance to view the Turfgrass Program’s ongoing research trials and speak directly with N.C. State faculty and staff.

The range of topics includes integrated pest management, cultural practices, irrigation technologies, aquatic weed management, weed control and more.

Come early for doughnuts and coffee. After the talks, enjoy a catered lunch complete with N.C. State’s Howling Cow ice cream. Water and soft drinks will be provided to participants throughout the day.

The field day is open to turf professionals and anyone with a lawn to maintain. Participants will have the opportunity to speak directly with the top turf scientists in the nation and see, touch and feel the types of grasses most appropriate for North Carolina.

“Our field day is designed to welcome and inform, providing lots of tips and tricks,” said Jenifer Jordan, event organizer and N.C. State Turfgrass Program marketing specialist. “Even if you don’t maintain your own lawn, the experts participating in our field day will help you better understand the inputs and maintenance required, making you an informed buyer.”
