Magic at 64.4 Degrees: Science, Serendipity and Farmed Striped Bass

A breakthrough in striped bass breeding surfaced because of a happy accident at the Pamlico Aquaculture Field Laboratory. 

After decades of research on breeding bass in captivity, Benjamin Reading and his team found a shortcut to producing up to 5 million larvae from a single spawning event with captive striped bass. What they learned has potential to streamline commercialization of the species.
