JC Raulston Arboretum presents autumn kids' programs

WHAT/WHEN:

“Color Magic: The Science Inside Fall Leaves”
Families will explore plant science mysteries together, just in time for Halloween. Suggested age range: 5 and up. Rain or shine; please dress to be outdoors. Admission is $10 per family (member) or $15 per family (non-member). Sunday, Oct. 30, 2-4 p.m.

“Natural Wrappers: From Tiny Seeds to Giant Trees”
Nature’s wrapping paper comes in all colors, textures and shapes. Inside these packages are hidden treasures:  seeds! Come hunt for the fruit and seeds of both the smallest plants and the biggest trees in the arboretum. Suggested age range: 5 and up. Rain or shine; please dress to be outdoors. Admission is $10 per family (member) or $15 per family (non-member). Sunday, Nov. 20, 2-4 p.m.

WHO:
The 10.5-acre JC Raulston Arboretum has one of the largest and most diverse collections of landscape plants adapted for landscape use in the Southeast. Plant collections include more than 5,000 total species and/or cultivars of annuals, perennials, bulbs, vines, groundcovers, shrubs and trees from more than 50 different countries. Maintained by N.C. State students, faculty, volunteers and staff members, the Arboretum is named in honor of its late director, Dr. J. C. Raulston, who founded it in 1976.
